Who We Are

Located in Washington State, we are an intentional community focused on discipleship.

An Irish Monastic Community based on St. Patrick's Celtic Christianity. Thus, at its core, the ministry is run more by laity than by clergy. St. Patrick's Celtic Christianity has a focus on the crucified and risen Christ, which leads followers in seeking reconciliation with God and man through discipleship, this is lived out through obedience to all of God's word: exhibiting character qualities of generosity, and gentleness toward all that God has created, and having an awareness of, and the desire to know the mystical nature of God.

Anamchara Ministries is a non-profit organisation founded by Clint and Caoimhe Dunn, with a working Board of Directors, and Elder Board providing direction, spiritual support, and accountability.

Students come to live at Anamchara Monastery to go through the educational programme.

Thus, learning and growing in spiritual matters, while living in community through a monastic lifestyle, and walking side by side in mentor/mentee relationships, which affords the members of Anamchara Ministries the opportunity to become disciples of Christ, while learning to love all men regardless of colour, creed, or position.
Anamchara Ministries’ formation was highly influenced by the founder’s Irish heritage. The Irish proverb "Giorraíonn beirt bother", meaning "Two shorten a road." speaks to the heart of Anamchara Ministries, and the monastic lifestyle lived here.

The Irish are a deeply communal people. If a trip is necessary, be it long or short, it is always preferable to have companionship, and we believe living life together is the ultimate trip where having a soul mate is desirable.

A peek into our community life.

Community Values

Seeking God, alone and together, is never just an intellectual exercise or a self-improvement programme – it is the blending of prayer, discipleship, accountability, and a faith that is active and contagious, lived out in the "day-to-day" of ordinary life. This blend forms the foundation that lies at the heart of our beliefs..
